Bonjour! Hola! Welcome! Or as we say in Newfoundland, whatta ya at?

Finally, finally…Candice Does the World is live. Those who come here seeking images of me mounting a globe (as suggested by my friend Rob) will be sorely disappointed to find only a slight touch of perversion.

Open your mind and enter the world of Candice, where the booze doth flow freely and the strange and ridiculous are daily occurrences. For example, earlier today I discovered that I have been watering the office’s fake plant for two weeks, much to the pleasure of my coworkers.

Chances are, a lot of this will be trial and error. I’ve never maintained a REAL blog before, goodness! When I asked my friend Shaun to design a site for me, I said I wanted it “clean and colourful.” Somehow he’s managed to capture my personality perfectly. I feel like I’m working from inside a giant creamsicle, all melted and delicious and kinda random.

To be honest, I find a lot of travel sites stale. Too serious. Lacking character. It’s not that the writing isn’t great, but I really need that human element to connect to a place. I’m going to try and create this human element, building momentum as I go. From time to time I’ll do the reviews, destination features, and general commentary, but mostly I have stories to tell. They are delicious.

Finally, a big thank-you goes out to all my loyal followers for being rad. Also, I know I’ve left out a few stragglers from my link list, so if you’d like to be included, leave a comment.
