A Toast to Some Travellers Part 3: More Blogs to Drool Over

My Google reader is laden with travel blogs. It’s so full, it’s become bloated and unattractive and I’ve had to trim a few blogs lately to prevent any mental breakdowns that may result from a lifetime of scrolling, scrolling, scrolling down.

The problem is, there’s so much damned good material out there, it’s overwhelming. Blogs shuffling to the forefront of the Interwebz to grab the attention of the world, people competing for advertisements and publicity, and a whole lot of wanderlust to make grounded people like me weep.

Here’s a tequila shot for these folks I’ve been following for awhile that are totally worthy of all your attention.

Death.

Death.

Christine Amorose of C’est Christine – She’s a French-fuelled traveller who believes in slooooow travel rather than RTW trips. Her site’s deliciously girly, easy to read, and filled with great images. Follow her as she begins her new life in Nice, France.

Keith Savage of Traveling Savage – When Keith first followed me on Twitter, I literally thought he was a travelling savage. I don’t actually know what that means. Turns out he’s a really smart, talented writer who plans to start travelling for a few months at a time while his wife holds down the fort at home. Jealous, much?

Aly and John of Hop & Jaunt – Not only are they a role model couple, but they’re graphic designing badasses too. Every time I go to their site, I melt a little. They even do graphic travel stories, how freaking cool is that?

Monica Wong of A Pair of Panties and Boxers - As if the name isn’t intriguing enough. This girl does it all; she works full-time, volunteers, blogs her face off, studies for her GMAT, maintains a social life…and she still cranks out great material. Check out her sunrises and sunsets photo series from around the world.

Adam of Travels of Adam – Adam ditched his job as a successful graphic designer to kick-start a RTW trip in April, 2010. He’s currently being all cool and stuff in Spain. He’s a friendly, well-seasoned traveller with big dreams, check him out!

Lastly, not a blogger, but an organization titled Dog Meets World. I briefly referenced them before, but I felt they deserve a little more attention. The project is all about photo diplomacy and encouraging travellers to form more intimate bonds with the people on their journeys, particularly the children in third-world countries. Basically, give them a toy, take their picture, print it out, and make some kid smile.

If you want to exchange some link love, leave a comment and I’ll add you to the mother of all link pages.
