Dangerously Close to the Edge at Mistaya Canyon

During our Moose Network tour through the Rockies, we stopped at Mistaya Canyon in Banff National Park. Just off the Icefields Parkway, a short trail takes you straight down to the canyon where you can easily navigate the edge of the river.

While visiting, I spotted this dude peering inquisitively into the canyon. He stayed there for awhile, not moving, practically blending in with the rocks.

Mistaya Canyon

Probably be wary of walking near the edge when it’s raining!

Sorry for the lack of posting, folks. If you may have noticed from Facebook or Twitter, I’m currently home in Bay d’Espoir to attend the funeral of a beloved uncle. I’m going to be spending the next few days with my loved ones, but stay tuned for some exciting travel news.

That makes me nervous just looking at that picture. I don’t do well with heights and standing at the edge of anything. Beautiful scenery though…

Awesome pic! I suppose I should make some comment about how crazy or dangerous that is… but I’ve done it before myself… So, uh, yeah.
