See the world on a cruise

Travelling the world is pretty high up on many a bucket list, and the way to do it in comfort and style is on a cruise. There’s a ship and itinerary to suit everyone, from Mediterranean adventures, to trips into the Arctic Circle or even world cruises where you get to see it all.

A typical cruise will involve stopping off at several ports, where you get the chance to explore the local area and see the sights – taking part in excursions arranged through your cruise ship and partners they work with at each port. It’s a great way to get a taste of lots of different places, while relaxing and enjoying all the ship has to offer in between stop-offs.
Here are a few examples of the kind of trips you could enjoy when you travel by cruise ship:

UK to North Africa

A cruise from the UK to North Africa could see you stopping off at ports including Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Egypt. In Alexandria you’ll visit beautiful Egyptian mosques and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina – a library and archaeological museum on the historical site of Ptolemy’s first Library of Alexandria, established in 288 BC.

In Cyprus vineyards, castles and Jeep safaris await; while a stopover in Spain offers tours of the Sights of Seville, sherry tasting in Jerez and a chance to try out your Flamenco dancing in Cadiz.

The Norwegian Fjords and Iceland

If you’re looking for something a little cooler, a cruise to Iceland or the Fjords of Norway could be just the ticket. The incredible Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is a must see near Reykjavik, or you can visit the setting of Jules Verne’s epic novel Journey to the Centre of the Earth in Grundarfjordur.

Alternatively, travel up the Norwegian coast as far as the North Cape, where you might even catch a glimpse of the magical Northern Lights, as well as stopping off at ports including Bergen and Tromsø.

Australasia

Cruises down under include visits to the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand and Australia, as well as Papa New Guinea and Tasmania. If you are a beach person then a layover at the Bay of Islands in New Zealand will be right up your street. There you can admire wildlife including whales, dolphins and penguins while enjoying the tropical climate and museums documenting the Maori history of the area.

Highlights on a cruise through Australia include snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, the fine dining and bars of Adelaide, and the bush life of Darwin – made famous by Crocodile Dundee.

Central America

Visiting Central America on a cruise can include visits to Mexico, Guatemala, Panama or Costa Rica. You could find yourself on the legendary beaches of Acapulco, or enjoy the music and bars of the world’s most popular cruise port, Cozumel.

A stop-off at Balboa to visit Panama City, one of the very few walled cities in Central America, is an essential part of any cruise to this extraordinary part of the world; and in the jungle, rainforest and nature reserves of Limon, Costa Rica you’ll experience some of the most remarkable wildlife and beautiful settings on the planet.

These and dozens of other destinations can be reached by cruise ship; one of the most relaxing and enjoyable ways to see the world. Click here for more information and to book your trip now.
